Dr. John Wright
John studied at Otago University. He brings over 20 years of experience to the practice. He holds a Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
He is a sustained member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and a member of the President’s Honour Roll with the AACD . He has received Outstanding Service to Cosmetic Dentistry.
He was a founding member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has been a past president of the Academy.
John has also lectured at the Auckland Dental Associated, Canterbury Dental Association, NZACD’s Six of the Best, NZACD Biennial Symposiums and many study clubs
He has also helped train the final year Dental Therapy Students at AUT.
John is trained in Invisalign and with the use of Dermal Fillers and Botulium Toxin.
However, he enjoys practicing all forms of dentistry with a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry.
Outside dentistry his time is taken up running his three children Alex, Oliver and Charlotte to their various activities.
Dr. Erl Sutcliffe
Our longstanding Dentist Dr. Erl Sutcliffe graduated from the University of Otago in 1981 and has worked predominately in New Zealand other than 2 years spent in London and a year in Germany. He has practiced at Milford Dental Centre since 1999.
Erl was born on the North Shore and lives in Milford with his wife and 2 of his 3 children, his dog and cat. The recent addition of his first grandchild has added further joy to his life. When not at work Erl enjoys walking, playing golf and traveling.
Dr. Kav Naidoo
Kavendra (known commonly as ‘Kav’) graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and later went on to complete his Bachelor Of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Auckland University.
He is an enthusiastic dentist who is capable in all aspects of dentistry with a recently acquired interest in dental implants and orthodontics. His manner with patients is very courteous, friendly and he prides himself on excellent post visit and after hours dental care.
Kav is widely travelled and is able to relate to people from many walks of life. He is married and has a particular sporting interest in cricket. In his spare time Kav enjoys keeping fit through regular gym routines and is very much a family guy.
Dr Kelly Jung
Dr Kelly Jung came to New Zealand in 1994 from South Korea and grew up in Wellington. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery more than 10 years ago. She began her career working in Wellington and Auckland Hospitals for the District Health Board where she was working together with many highly qualified specialists and medically compromised patients. She also completed her primary examinations with Royal Australian College of Dental surgeons.
She then worked full time for a few years in private practice in East Auckland before she relocated to North Shore City. Kelly is married to her wonderful husband Lloyd and they have two delightful children together. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and is dedicated to providing a high quality service and excellent aesthetic solutions for her patients. Kelly is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, as well as New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Association. She understands that a visit to the dentist can be nerve-wracking for many, but through reassurance and listening to her patients concerns, she creates a relaxed environment to ensure each and every patient has a positive experience.
Dr. Yoo Been Ahn
Dr. Yoobeen Ahn was born in South Korea and her family moved to New Zealand when she was 11 years old. She has lived in Milford mostly and attended Westlake Girls School. After graduating from University of Otago with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction), she continued to study for a Masters in Preventive and Public Health Dentistry to pursue her passion in promoting oral health for the wider public.
She was involved in multiple government-led researches and many of her studies were published in prestigious medical and dental journals including Atherosclerosis and Journal of Clinical Periodontology. She also delivered presentations at international conferences such as the European Public Health Association Conference. She taught students at dental school before she began working in private clinics. With her expertise in preventive and public health dentistry, she endeavours to provide preventive and minimally invasive treatments for patients of all ages. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a special interest in orthodontics and dental implants, she is passionate about delivering smiles to patients’ faces. She is an accredited provider of Fastbraces.
She met her husband at dental school who is also a public health dentist and the couple is married with one baby girl. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis at the local club with her family. She also has a great appreciation for arts and classical music. Yoobeen speaks English, Korean and Japanese.
Dr. Marwan Wadea
Marwan studied his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, graduating in 2009 and registered as a Dentist in New Zealand in 2012.
He uses dental photography as a way of communicating with his patients and enjoys most parts of general dentistry. Marwan particularly has a genuine passion for restorative dentistry. He recently accomplished a Masters in Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Otago. Marwan finds joy in seeing the smile on his patient’s face when shown the final result at the end of their appointment.
Outside of the practice and his studies, he resides in Murrays Bay and enjoys running and keeping active. You’ll often find him at Millennium gym as he likes to stay fit.
Dr. Angel Babu
Milford Family Dental is welcoming their first Paediatric Dentist, Dr. Angel Babu. Angel is an expert in dental care for children and can use general anesthesia, nitrous oxide and oral sedation to put her patients at ease. She also regularly liaises with other healthcare professionals regarding ongoing medical needs for Paediatric patients. Angel completed her Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) at the prestigious University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, graduating in 2016.
Early childhood dentistry is a crucial part in any person’s journey to better dental health as it affects their overall oral health even as they grow older. Milford Family Dental believes that with the help of Angel, Kiwi kids can have better access to early childhood dentistry so that their primary teeth (more commonly known as baby teeth) grow properly and are adequately protected.
Angel is now offering appointments on Thursdays and Fridays.
Dr. Lorena Hernandez Noguera
Dr Lorena was born and raised in Venezuela. She graduated as a Dentist in 2008 from the University Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela. Following her graduation, she practiced full time in both private and public sectors for four years. In 2012 she moved to the United States to learn English and to pursue further education. She attended the Professional Program for International Dentists at the University of California in 2015. Dr. Lorena is passionate about her profession and is happy to be able to work in such a beautiful country. She has an interest in Orthodontics and does Traditional Braces as well as Invisalign. She loves traveling and living in different places and learning about different cultures. Lorena is offering appointments late nights on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Originating from Canada, Kendra has been our full time Dental Hygienist for the past 5 years. She completed a 4 year degree in Dental Hygiene Specialization in Canada in 2006 and has over 10 years experience. She is experienced in treating all forms of Periodontal disease and with her caring, gentle touch she helps puts patients at ease. In her spare time she enjoys doing Yoga and going to the gym, catching up with friends and family and is also well travelled.
Stacey graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health science, majoring in Oral Health. Originally from Wanganui, Stacey moved to Auckland to complete her Degree. Stacey is passionate about oral health having worked in the industry for a number of years as a Dental Assistant. Her friendly, caring, and gentle approach helps make patients feel comfortable during their dental visits. In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with friends and family.
Ben is from Alberta Canada, and received his Dental Hygiene degree in Texas, USA. He has been practicing for 3 years and just recently moved to New Zealand with his wife so that she could further her studies as a Chiropractor. Ben has a gentle touch, and enjoys teaching patients about their oral health. Ben loves spending time at home cooking, as well as time outdoors and is always excited to go hiking. Ben is now offering appointments on Saturdays. Appointments can be made online, or by calling our friendly reception team.
Anne is our valued Receptionist and has worked in the Dental industry on the North Shore for the past 17 years and at Milford Dental Centre for 7 years. Anne enjoys being the first point of contact and has a welcoming and warm personality which helps ease apprehensive patients into dental care. Anne likes to spend her leisure time with family and enjoys fishing, walking and travel. Anne has been married to Roger for forty years and has 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
Sally is our long time Dental Assistant. Originally from the UK, she works alongside Dr. Kelly Jung. Sally has been with the practice for over 5 years. With her bubbly and friendly personality she is a pleasure to have around, always helping to put nervous patients at ease.
